When you are starting a business online, chances are you will want to accept credit cards.  For this, you will need an Internet Merchant Account and an electronic payment gateway.

  • Discount Rate Surcharge: 1.00% - most companies charge 2% or more on non-qualified rates, bringing your discount rate to over 4%!  Take a look at your merchant account statement to see how many transactions are downgraded.  If you have fifty $100 transactions downgraded to non-qualified, this merchant account can save you at least $50.00 a month!

Electronic Payment Gateways

The electronic payment gateway can be compare to the POS terminal at a retail store.  Usually when you sign up for an Internet merchant account, you have a few choices when it comes to electronic payment gateways. 

• QuantumGateway: A powerful electronic payment gateway offering merchants numerous features to help reduce fraud and chargebacks at no extra fees.  This is the electronic payment gateway that Mile High Merchant Accounts recommends to merchants.  We think you will appreciate all the extra fraud controls this gateway offers at no extra charge.  There is no set-up fee or extra transaction costs with this electronic payment gateway.
• Authorize.net: No set-up fee, $15.00 monthly, 10¢ per transaction.
• eProcessingNetwork: No set-up fee, $15.00 monthly, 10¢ per transaction.

At Mile High Merchant Accounts, we recommend the Quantum Gateway - simply because it offers more standard features and fraud prevention features than any other payment gateway at no additional charges.

Other Merchant Account Providers

Mile High Merchant Accounts has also partnered with Durango Merchant Services to offer merchants a choice.  If you decide to sign up with Durango Merchant Services (they offer Internet Merchant Accounts, MOTO Merchant Accounts, Retail Merchant Accounts, High Risk Merchant Accounts, and Offshore Merchant Account Services.

Unfortunately their fees are not posted until you complete the application.  Their fees are based on type of business, monthly volume, large ticket items (if applicable), and transaction history.  You will not be charged anything until you are approved and agree on the discount rate, transaction rates, etc.
